Job Description - Pharmacy Tech levels 1 - 5:
This posting is for a shared outpatient/retail pharmacy technician position. The primary work locations will be the Mayo Clinic Health System Clinic Pharmacies in Albert Lea and Austin, Minnesota. Candidates must also be available to work occasionally at the Mayo Clinic Health System Clinic Pharmacy in Cannon Falls. Candidates must also be willing and able to drive and deliver medications to patients’ homes.
Assists the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the patient. Accurately and efficiently processes prescriptions. Interacts with patients and managed care plans to authorize prescription coverage. Assembles prescriptions and follows proper procedures to prepare and dispense medications. Accurately and efficiently completes patient purchase transactions utilizing point of sale systems. Assists with maintaining accurate medication inventories and billing of medications. Effectively communicates utilizing established systems and processes. Performs responsibilities and duties of the job in a manner that is attentive to age and ability considerations.

Schedule Details
Candidates must be able to work 8‑hour shifts with varying start times to ensure coverage of pharmacy operating hours, which are currently 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday and 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The Clinic Pharmacies are closed on Sundays and major holidays.
Weekend Schedule
The current weekend rotation requires working one four‑hour Saturday shift every fifth or sixth weekend.
