Responsibilities
Position Overview:
In accordance with Marian Regional Medical Center's mission, the job of pharmacy technician includes preparing IV solutions and medications according to established procedures under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. They must be highly accurate and attentive to the principles of sterility and dosing when preparing all IV's. The pharmacy technician must double-check all dosage calculations. Stat requests must be addressed as top priority. This person will serve patients of all ages and must communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, in English. Their attention to detail must be strong and they must be able to follow both verbal and written directions. Filling medication orders and maintaining records is a crucial aspect of this job and must be done precisely. Good communication and tact are necessary because this position requires interacting with co-workers, patients, family, and the public. They must have a rudimentary understanding of computers. This list comprises the primary responsibilities of the job, however, on occasion the assigned pharmacist in charge may assign other duties as needed.

Registered as a Pharmacy Technician-Natl.
