The Pharmacy Revenue Specialist ensures optimal pharmaceutical revenue while supporting patient-centric, compliant care. This role collaborates with pharmacy, managed care, and business office teams to improve billing, charging, denial management, and collections across the system.
The Pharmacy Revenue Specialist ensures that the system receives the optimal revenue from pharmaceuticals. They collaborate with various departments to harmonize and improve the pharmacy charges, revenue, processes, billing, denial management, and collections across the system. This role also serves as a liaison between sites, managed care, and the business office to reduce the number of medication-related claim denials and outstanding claims. The Pharmacy Revenue Specialist provides education to site and system stakeholders on how to capture revenue optimally and acts as the system expert on medication-related compliance billing and charging topics and also develops policies and/or guidelines to increase revenue integrity, capture, and compliance. This role also participates in the financial analyses of any proposed changes to evaluate the charge and revenue implications. Finally, this role communicates the findings to management and oversees the implementation of approved recommendations to ensure appropriate revenue capture.
IV/procurement experience in a hospital setting is needed,
experience with prior authorizations and denials highly preferred

What We're Looking For
+ Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. Finance, Business, Pharmacy or Related Field.
+ Experience: Minimum three years of hospital-based pharmacy/procurement experience, required. Minimum three years of medical billing/collections or relevant experience, preferred.
+ Licensure/Certification:
+ Current registry with applicable State Board(s) of Pharmacy, required.
+ PTCB or NHA Certification within 60 days of hire, required.
+ A minimum of two relevant specialized certificates/certifications from approved vendors such as PTCB, BPTS, or NPTA. One certificate/certification must be billing/reimbursement, but others may include by not limited to product verification, medication history, hazardous drug management, sterile compounding), required.
+ Additional Skills (required):
+ A high level of proficiency in all Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access). Comfortable using various software packages. Excellent communication skills (written and oral). Acute attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent presentation, reporting and organization skills. Strong analytical skills. Critical thinker and problem solver. Strong time management skills with ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision. Effective decision maker with ability to exercise independent judgement in a wide range of scenarios. Ability to manage challenging relationships (internal and external) and drive results using available resources. Responds to requests and resolves in a timely manner. Ability to write procedure manuals/training documentation/flow charts and assist management with the coaching, training and development of the team. Commitment to quality. Ability to work under pressure in achieving tight deadlines. Working knowledge of contract terminology and basic contracting processes. Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed.
