This is a Pharmacy Inventory Control Specialist position focusing on optimization on a system level, located in Plainfield, IN at the Integrated Service Center.
Provides for uninterrupted flow of pharmaceutical products and supplies to the organization including hospitals, retail pharmacies, clinics, surgery centers and other departments as needed. Deploys to support sites in operations efforts with technology implementation and optimization. Coordinates stocking of pharmaceutical products and supplies with guidance from department management. Performs and/or supervises inventory control procedures that may consist of product sourcing, receiving, reverse distribution, cycle counts, par analysis, and recalls. Initiates procedures to update formulary databases and barcode associations as needed. Maintains all records pertaining to pharmaceuticals (including controlled substances) and supplies in compliance with organization policy as well as state and federal regulations. This position will require travel between IU Health facilities, have a significant remote component, and may require intermittent weekend or after-hours coverage.Accurately communicates procurement activities between all relevant internal and external parties.Follows-up on service support tickets submitted by themself and appropriately analyses ones submitted by counterparts for any new builds to maintain efficiency of operations and accuracy of systems and safeguards.Coordinates with IS team on new drug builds and inventory software solutions.Coordinates removal of expired and short-dated products and discuss opportunities with reverse distribution with designated system analyst. This may include reallocation of obsolete items.Participates in and coordinate inventory projects and par analysis (e.g., cycle count audits, contract compliance, workflow optimizations, etc.)Uses computerized inventory software to analyze, record, track, and maintain all inventory related data. Maintains accurate inventory levels and ensures inventory is available and ready for use to best of ability. Product movement evaluation and consumption analysis, and the follow-up tracking and changing of PARs/formulary status/ Par setting and modification, documentation. Coordinates data tracking efficiency with all goods and services received and distributed.Works with other pharmacy team members to brainstorm ways to reduce inventory waste or add new products.Ensures all inventory (including supplies) is organized, properly stored, and in good condition.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.Requires Indiana Pharmacy Technician License.Requires Pharmacy Technician National Certification.5+ years relevant experience preferred.Requires the absence of criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs.Requires strong mathematical calculation skills.Requires full proficiency as a pharmacy technician in assigned areas and ability to work within established procedures under limited supervision.Requires strong written and verbal communication skills.Requires strong customer service skills.Requires intermediate proficiency typing and using Microsoft Office applications.
