**_What Pharmacy Operations Intern contributes to Cardinal Health_**
**Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center, and we are currently recruiting for a PRN Pharmacy Intern to work as needed covering vacation/PTO.**
Pharmacy interns must act in compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of the facility. Supportive personnel work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a licensed pharmacist. Intern will assist the pharmacist in providing quality pharmaceutical care to all patients by performing certain technical duties in the pharmacy department.
**_Responsibilities_** _:_
+ _Procure, fill and distribute medication orders per prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols_
+ _Assist Pharmacist and other Technicians with daily tasks_
+ _Learn IV Compounding_
+ _Handle doctor calls, faxes and medication deliveries_
+ _Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by profiling prescriptions; preparing labels and calculating quantities_
+ _Fills physician orders, medication surgical kits, medication carts, stock requisitions and automated dispensing system refill lists accurately_
+ _Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations_
+ _Assist with monthly unit inspections_
+ _Provide excellent customer service to customers_
**_Qualifications_**
+ _Must be registered Pharmacist Intern with the_ **_Montana_** _State Board of Pharmacy_
+ _Must be currently in Pharmacy School_
+ _High School degree or equivalent_
+ _Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent_
+ _Proven customer service skills_
+ May require vendor credentialing
**_What is expected of you and others at this level_**
+ Applies knowledge and company policies to complete a variety of tasks
+ Demonstrates a working knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibility
+ maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications
+ Works on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgment in resolving issues
+ May assist in recommendation of processes on new assignments
+ Adheres to all quality guidelines
+ Works with limited supervision. Work occasionally involves review of output by work lead or supervisor
+ May provide general guidance or technical assistance to less experienced team members
**Anticipated hourly range:** $15.50 per hour - $22.20 per hour
**Bonus eligible:** No
