Pharmacy Government Stars Coordinator

**Job Description:**
The Pharmacy Government Stars Pharmacist Coordinator plays a pivotal role in improving the quality performance of government-sponsored healthcare programs, with a primary focus on Medicare and CMS Star Ratings. This position is responsible for driving clinical quality initiatives, particularly around key measures such as medication adherence, Medication Therapy Management (MTM), and Statin Use in Persons with Diabetes (SUPD).
A key focus of this role is to design, implement, and lead targeted projects that support improvements in CMS Star Ratings and member health outcomes. The Coordinator leverages clinical expertise, data insights, and collaboration to close care gaps, engage members and providers, and ensure consistent access to medications.
Serving as a liaison between members, providers, pharmacies, and internal teams, the Coordinator also provides education, coordinates care, and removes barriers to adherence. The role supports strategic initiatives, utilizes motivational interviewing techniques to support behavior change, and helps drive sustainable improvements in both quality metrics and patient satisfaction.
All work must be completed in accordance with internal policies, CMS requirements, confidentiality standards, and quality benchmarks. This role is essential in advancing clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and performance in the CMS Stars Program.
**This position will work Monday - Friday from 8-5. No holidays. Must have an active Pharmacist license.**

+ Maintains the confidentiality of all member data in accordance with policy and applicable regulations.

**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Pharm D. degree or Masters degree from an accredited school of pharmacy. Degree will be verified.
+ State license to practice pharmacy and dispense controlled substances.
+ Five years of pharmacy practice experience in a managed care or hospital environment.
+ Five years of Pharmacy Benefits management experience.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Advanced degree in business management or healthcare administration.
+ Pharmacy experience in a managed care setting including an ASHP accredited managed care residency.
+ Strong health care systems orientation including: managed care, retail and hospital pharmacy, pharmacy contracting, pharmaceutical company contracting.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Personal computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets.

+ Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
+ Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$78.89 - $113.67
