**Job Description** Responsible for training and competency assessments, monitoring, measuring and managing point of use automated dispensing, inventory and cart fill technology, and packaging equipment throughout Mount Sinai Medical Center. This individual analyzes Pyxis and robotic dispensing systems deployed on Nursing units in making appropriate inventory adjustments. Provides monthly report updates to the Director of Pharmacy, Associate and Assistant Directors of Operations. Responsible for training and competency assessments for Pharmacy staff on Pyxis. **Qualifications** 2 years minimum working with automated medication dispensing systems. Familiarity with: ·Hospital pharmacy packaging systems and bar code systems, and ·Rx Auditor software in order to identify drug usage patterns and recommend changes in drugs to be loaded and unloaded. **Licensing and certification Requirements** None **Compensation Statement** The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Non-Bargaining Unit, 184 - Pharmacy - MSH, Mount Sinai Hospital **Responsibilities** 1.Reviews and monitors Pyxis reports for refill volume on a monthly basis; oversees a process to increase efficiency of the medication station (Pyxis) refills. 2.Reviews and monitors medication stock outs and makes necessary adjustments for each Pyxis. 3.Reviews and monitors medication stock outs and makes necessary adjustments for each Pyxis. 4.Monitors expiration dating to ensure technical staff completes this task on a monthly basis. 5.Measures the percent medication dispensing through automated dispensing on a quarterly basis. 6.Evaluates the medication dispensed from robotic cart fill and makes adjustments to recommendations (whether to continue from robotic dispensing or convert automated dispensing units) on at least a quarterly basis. 7.Monitors the medication override report on a monthly basis for all nursing units and prepares reports for Pharmacy leadership. 8.Monitors inventories in automated dispensing units and make recommendations for improvement. 9.Oversees and manages new installations and implementations as needed. 10.Coordinates with Pharmacy IT, Pharmacy Assistant Director of IPD, Robotics and Purchasing when new drugs need to be added to auto dispensing units or the robot. 11.Trains pharmacy staff on Pyxis for the purpose of filling units and running stock reports and on how to troubleshoot equipment problems on assigned nursing units. 12.On as needed basis, changes “cubie” and “pocket” sizes as required based on changes in medication usage.
