Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pharmacist, Retail, you will be a cornerstone of patient well-being, delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care with precision and compassion.

Every day you will seamlessly collaborate with our pharmacy manager to provide vital support to patients, physicians, nurses, and all healthcare staff, ensuring optimal medication management. You'll be at the forefront, impacting lives daily with your expertise and dedication.

To be successful in this role, you will masterfully balance operational excellence with unparalleled customer service, consistently achieving both financial targets and exceeding patient expectations to reinforce our commitment to community health.

Facilitates accurate, safe, efficient, and timely dispensing of prescription and OTC medications in accordance with Company and department policies and procedures, and all state and federal regulationsCounsels, and educates patient, physicians, residents, nurses and other healthcare providers on drug/OTC information in accordance with state law.Oversees and directs the workflow of pharmacy ancillary staffAccurately complete prescription orders received from patients and providers to include data entry, data verification, drug utilization review (i.e dosing and indication verification, therapeutic duplications and interactions, allergy review, and other safety verifications), filling, labeling, final product verification, and staging for deliveryConsults with insurance companies to obtain authorization for prescription coverage.Follow-up with medical providers to clarify prescribed medications and prescriptionsHandles customer service issues as appropriateAnswers the telephone in a courteous and timely mannerAble to assist and perform basic cash register operations in accordance with cash handling policiesWorks collaboratively with all pharmacy staff to meet operational, financial, and customer service goals to include inventory management and reduced prescription wait times through adherence to applicable departmental policiesParticipates in department quality programs as evidenced by documentation of meeting attendance, meeting participation and reports produced.Keeps pharmacy surface areas, shelving, equipment and flooring clean, neat and well organized as evidenced by inspectionResponsible for opening and closing of pharmacy and shift change dutiesMaintain current knowledge, skills, and best practices as related to retail pharmacy and healthcare.Maintains current knowledge of information technology associated with pharmacy systemsCultural Sensitivity and Competence: Demonstrates proper use of communication tools/materials for effective communication and understands how the culture(s) of patient populations can affect communication, collaboration and the provision of care, treatment and services.Other duties performed may include, but are not limited to: routine immunizations, travel immunizations, compounding, bedside delivery with medication consultation or meds to beds program, participation in applicable collaborative practice agreements or therapy protocols, MTM participation
