**Department:** **Pharmacy** **Shift: Variable** **Daily Work Times:** **Variable** **Scheduled Biweekly Hours: 0** **Position Summary:** Under general direction, provides prescribed medications and pharmaceutical products for adequate patient care according to professional standards and practices. Advises/consults with medical staff, other health professionals, patients and families on pharmaceutical and patient care issues. **Job Specific Dutiesand Responsibilities:** 1. Prepares medications by reviewing and interpretingphysician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities. 2. Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, andlabeling pharmaceuticals. 3. Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies;advising interventions. 4. Completes pharmacy operational requirements byorganizing and directing technicians' work flow; verifying their preparationand labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries, charges, andinspections. 5. Provides pharmacological information by answeringquestions and requests of health care professionals; counseling patients ondrug therapies. 6.
