Job DescriptionAs a Pharmacist, your primary responsibility will be leveraging your clinical skills to complete utilization management (UM) reviews—including prior authorizations, coverage exceptions, step therapy, and quantity limit exceptions. You’ll work independently while being part of a supportive team of pharmacy professionals. Monthly quality and productivity goals will measure your performance, and while this role begins as a consultant, it’s designed with long-term potential in mind.
What You’ll DoConduct detailed UM reviews, such as prior authorizations and formulary exceptions using client-specific criteria.Apply clinical judgment to approve or deny requests.Communicate with providers and members (if trained in Call Center Counseling).Maintain high standards of quality and productivity.Participate in cross-training opportunities for specialized cases and other departments.Essential Skills2+ years of experience in retail, managed care, or clinical pharmacy.PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.Active pharmacist license in good standing.Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset.Confident in making independent clinical decisions.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in Pharmacy Benefits Management or Case/Care Management is a plus.Comfortable learning new systems and basic IT troubleshooting.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.Typing speed of 35+ WPM.Adaptable and resourceful in a changing environment.Work Environment & Schedule100% Remote– Work from anywhere in the U.S. (except CA, HI, or VA).Start Dates: September–October (subject to change).Training:16 weeks, M–F, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST. No time off allowed during training.Post-Training Shifts: Typically start at 9:00 or 10:00 AM CST for an 8-hour day.Schedule Determination: Based on team bid and seniority.Full-Time Only: No part-time schedules available.Overtime: May be required during peak season (Nov–May).Weekends & Holidays: Rotating weekends (every other during peak, every 6th otherwise). Holidays are shared and determined by the team bid.Time Off: Up to 120 hours of unpaid time off annually, based on seniority. Any time off after training must be discussed during interviews.CompensationPay Rate:$55/hourConsulting Term:6+ months with strong potential for conversion around the 1.5–2 year mark.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $55.00/hr.
