Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and providing pharmaceutical care, ensuring safe drug therapy practices, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes.
ResponsibilitiesParticipate in decisions regarding pharmaceutical services within assigned scope, including assessing patient pharmaceutical needs, planning and providing pharmaceutical services, and contributing to overall care and quality improvement plans.Review and evaluate physician prescription orders for dosage appropriateness, drug choice, route of administration, and stability.Supervise pharmacy operations, including filling, compounding, and dispensing medications, as well as inventory management and waste reduction.Ensure completeness of patient charts, including allergies, height, weight, medical history, lab results, and concurrent medications.Coordinate lab testing and discuss results with the healthcare team.Provide patient counseling, education, and monitoring to ensure safe drug therapy practices and compliance with regulations.Conduct clinical interventions and monitor therapy responses.Document all communications with healthcare providers and patients.Support compliance with state, federal, and Joint Commission requirements.Assist in implementing new procedures, training and supervising pharmacy staff, performance improvement projects, and in-service education for nursing and pharmacy personnel.Stay current through education, training, and literature review, and participate in competency and skills assessments.Participate in on-call schedule and perform other duties as assigned.For Floater Pharmacist: Provide coverage across multiple pharmacy locations and be willing and able to travel 50% or more as needed.Essential SkillsProficiency in pharmacy management and customer service.Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical practices and medication dispensing.Ability to coordinate, manage, and participate in pharmacy services including clinical monitoring and quality assurance activities.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Pharmacy with 3+ years of experience in mail order, retail, or hospital pharmacy, OR Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.).Current pharmacist license in the state of practice.For Floater Pharmacist: Multi-state licensure preferred or ability to quickly obtain additional state licenses.Work Environment
The work environment involves collaborating with a healthcare team in a pharmacy setting, with responsibilities that may include traveling to multiple locations for a Floater Pharmacist. The role requires adherence to dress codes and protocols to ensure a professional and compliant work atmosphere.

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $7.25 - $7.26/hr.
