**Responsibilities**
Reviews patient medical history to understand the patient’s illness and pending diagnostic procedure. Ensures proper patient preparation, including aseptic intravenous catheter placement for injection, safe handling, calculation, and administration of high energy PET radiopharmaceuticals produced from on-site cyclotrons. Performs complex PET/CT and PET/MR exams. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of image reconstruction utilizing dedicated software applications. Generates PET/CT and PET/MR fused images for diagnostic and research purposes. Operates cutting-edge technology that includes a variety of dual-modality scanners such as long bore, dedicated cardiac, research, and PET/MR. Uses multiple dose calibrators, auto dose injection systems, glucometers, and other related medical equipment. Maintains competency and retains extensive knowledge of a large variety of complex PET procedures. Able to prioritize tasks and work efficiently while paying close attention to detail within a high-volume Nuclear Medicine Department. Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate and provide compassionate care during procedures. Able to accommodate patient needs by adapting to age-specific and physical limitations. Respects the modesty and confidentiality of patients. Thinks creatively to deliver individualized care and address specific patient needs to align with the primary value of Mayo Clinic: The needs of the patient come first. Adheres to department safety requirements and practices Radiation Safety guidelines (ALARA) for themselves, support personnel, and patients. Provides education and clinical training to Nuclear Medicine Program interns and support staff. Willing to continuously adapt, learn, and nurture technical skills throughout career in a world-class Nuclear Medicine Department. Looks for opportunities within work unit for growth and development including but not limited to participation with education, research, internal committees, and institutional committees. Fosters teamwork through effective communication. Flexible to work in various work locations, start times, and shift lengths. Opportunities to subspecialize within the Nuclear Medicine Department. May be required to work on-call shifts including holidays, evenings, and weekends.
**Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree in a related field and be a graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program. Must be registered as a certified nuclear medicine technologist (CNMT) with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and maintain current licensure. Must be registered with the NMTCB as a Positron Emission Tomography technologist and maintain current licensure.

Monday through Friday. Must be flexible to work varied hours in PET imaging. Majority are 8 hr shifts; several 10 hour shifts are also available.
