Pet Food Processing Technician Job Title: Pet Food Processing Technician Location: Golden Valley, MN (Minneapolis) Type: Contract-to-Hire Compensation: $21.00 per hour to start Contractor Work Model: 100% Onsite Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Some overtime, including weekends is expected Pet Food Processing Technician Responsibilities: + This role is assigned to the meat room and primarily focuses on preparing product for processing including: grinding, dicing, handling, and processing raw and cooked meat in an air-conditioned (refrigerated) environment which may contain various odors + Operates AND loads material into meat grinder machine, mixer, or dicing & slicing equipment, and uses of other processing tools & equipment + Safely pre-cuts meat by hand to fit into machine as needed. Ensures production goals are maintained + Sets up machinery and mechanical cutting and food processing equipment including machine change overs, basic calibration, machine start up, equipment sanitization and ensures proper documentation completed + Safely, consistently & repeatedly lifts, manipulates & transports ingredients weighing up to 55 lbs to meat grinder + Adheres to food safety standards: preforms quality checks, conducts moisture content tests using specialized equipment, takes temperature readings + Helps in other processing or packaging areas when available and as needed + *This position involves potential exposure to common allergens including but not limited to milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame.* Pet Food Processing Technician Requirements: + High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school studies is preferred such as Associates degree or specialized vocational/technical training + At least two (2) years of experience working in another warehouse setting or food production environment is preferred + Must be able to wear slip resistant, steel toe work boots (required) + Able to regularly lift up material weighing up to 55lbs using both arms/hands from the ground to shoulder level + Must be capable of basic data entry into computer + Basic understanding of food safety and human safety is required and discussed at interview + Must have the ability to work in hot, warm, or cool conditions within the plant + Must be capable of preforming work in an environment that may potentially be exposed to common allergens such as: milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame. #M1 Ref: #563-Joule Staffing - Toms River System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, CM Access, TPGS, and MOUNTAIN, LTD., are leaders in delivering workforce solutions and integrated services across North America.
