Personnel Assistant III

This position performs work in support of human resource professionals that requires a good working knowledge of personnel procedures, guides, and precedents. Job tasks may include interviewing applicants, obtaining references, and recommending placement in a well-defined occupation. At this level, assistants typically have a range of personal contacts within and outside the organization, in addition to handling employee-sensitive material. Therefore, the Assistant must be tactful, discrete, and articulate. This Assistant may be involved in identifying potential issues and grievance procedures, in addition to documenting necessary information to avoid company threat. The Personnel Assistant III may make recommendations to human resource professionals on job classification, wage rates, and employee salaries. The use of computers may be relied on heavily for organizational and reporting purposes. Advanced experience with office software packages may be needed. This Assistant may perform some clerical work in addition to the above duties. Supervisor will review completed work against stated objectives.


Responsibilities

Maintains current job descriptions, prepares job requisitions on iCIMS recruiting system. Distributes current job postings to local employment agencies and job boards.  Review and pull resumes for Managers/Supervisors to score and interview. Review candidates selected for hire, conduct new hire orientation, process new hire paperwork, and maintain the employee folders on corporate information systems and local spreadsheets. Responsible for assisting in setting up 401K and Health Insurance for new and current employees on AFO contract. Work with department Managers on various tasks, CDRL reviews of their sections, counseling’s, employee issues, 90 day / annual reviews, complete updates on the ERC for promotions and other H.R. issues that arise. Review bi-weekly timecards on Deltek. Help set up new hires and employee promotions      with proper charge codes on the Employee Workforce spreadsheet, handle payroll issues.Sets up and coordinates interview schedules for prospective employees for PMO.Maintain Employee badge pictures along with Post Pass expirations. Maintain all employee spreadsheets, submits Government reports. Coordinates with corporate HR to resolve employee issues. Processes resignation, lay-off, and termination paperwork. Administers exit check out paperwork to employees. Help maintain all H.R. procedures, work instructions, and forms.Administers random urinalysis program. Completes drug screening paperwork for employees for accidents, pre-employment, and recertification for CDL’s.Answer phones and greet customers. Assist employees with any type of issues they may have or customers with questions or job postings. Performs other duties as assigned.Material & Equipment Directly Used:Computer equipment, various software programs, Microsoft, Excel, Deltek and ERC, photocopier and scanner.
Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent with good oral and written communication skills.Three years experience in Human Resources is desired.  Must have excellent communications skills. Previous experience on government contracts preferred.  Must be familiar with the operation of office automation systems.Must possess and continuously maintain a current State of Colorado Driver’s License.  National Agency Check (NAC) to obtain a CAC.Must receive favorable background and drug testing results.   

Physical Demands & Working Environment:

Work is generally conducted in an office environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting up to 25 lbs; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required is certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices, as required. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules.
