Personal & Physical Security Expert

As our new Personal & Physical Security Expert you ensurse the security of our Managing Banking Board and the sage execution of high profile internal and external events. By providing independent risk assessments and developing robust security plans, you strengthens our resilience and reputation.

Role & Responsibilities

Independently perform threat and risk assessments for executives and events.Identify geopolitical, operational, and reputational threats impacting ING.Develop and implement executive protection and event security plans.Align with ING’s risk appetite, global security standards, and governance frameworks.Coordinate with relevant internal functions and external partners (government, law enforcement, private security providers).Serve as first responder and security advisor during incidents involving executives or events.Support crisis communication and escalation towards senior management.Provide clear reports and recommendations to management and Executive Board.Ensure compliance with ING’s Physical Security standards and external legal requirements.

How to succeed

University degree (Security Management, Crisis & Security, or equivalent).7–10 years of professional experience in executive protection, event security, or protective services.Proven experience drafting and implementing risk assessments and security plans.International experience and established network with authorities/security providers.

Competencies

Analytical and able to translate complex threats into pragmatic measures.Effective communicator, able to advise at Board-level.Decisive under pressure; resilient and adaptable.Trusted, discreet, and reliable in sensitive contexts.Strong collaborator across cultures and organisational layers.
