Personal Assistant – Short-Term Insurance

Key Responsibilities:
Provide executive-level administrative support to advisors
Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, appointments, and documentation
Handle full Personal Lines underwriting processes, with emphasis on policy renewals and servicing
Liaise directly with underwriters at SANTAM, ECHELON, RENASA and OMNISURE
Request, negotiate, and implement renewal terms and alternative quotes
Process amendments, cancellations, endorsements, and re-writes
Ensure all compliance documentation (FICA, FAIS) is up to date and properly filed
Prepare and send client communications related to renewals and queries
Maintain and update internal systems and client files with high attention to detail
Follow up with clients and insurers on outstanding items
Support the advisor in meeting operational targets and client service standards
Minimum Requirements:
RE5 Certificate – Mandatory
Registered as a Short-Term Insurance Representative with FSCA – Mandatory
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Personal Lines Short-Term Insurance
Strong working knowledge of renewals and underwriting for:
SANTAM ECHELON RENASA OMNISURE Excellent understanding of policy lifecycle, quoting, and client servicing
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong administrative, time management, and organisational skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Advantageous:
Previous experience in a financial advisory or insurance brokerage environment
Familiarity with insurer platforms and underwriting tools
Client-first approach with a strong focus on service delivery
