D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Permit Manager. The right candidate will oversee all aspects of permits, plan packages and architecture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Coordinate the timely preparation and submission of individual lot building permitsCoordinate all permit submittalsPlan preparationFacilitate communication with architectsDevelop department overhead budgetInterface with all municipal governing bodies, public utilities and industry associationsOversee the field operation and production times that the homes are ready for homeowner orientations and occupancySet build times on each plan and provide schedules to meet the build timesReview vendor surveys each month before they are sent outVisit job sites periodically and enforce policiesDevelop professional relationships within local government officesConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAbility to travel overnight

Supervises 2 or more employees

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Three to five years related experience and/or trainingMust have a vehicle, a valid driver’s licenseGeneral knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently to balance competing deadlinesSuperb interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsAbility to communicate and work with all levels of management and personnel Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and email

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university a plusExperience working in JD Edwards a plus
