Job Description:
For the Permits department within the Community Relations division at our corporate headquarters in Brussels, we are seeking a Permit Editor to work in a 11 months contract the possibility of extension.

You will be responsible for the preparation and submission of permit applications related to the energy transition, at both the regional and federal levels in Belgium.

Responsibilities: Drafting permit applications in full, both for new (construction) projects and for renewals of existing permits. Working closely with internal stakeholders throughout all aspects of the permit application process. Reviewing and accurately assessing all required documents for the application (pre-screening, appropriate assessment, environmental impact report, etc.). Determining the required components of the application (urban planning, environmental, etc.), in collaboration with the internal Environment department where necessary. Contributing to the definition of required plans (in accordance with the Infrastructure Standards Manual) and the accompanying list of plans to be submitted, as well as verifying their accuracy. Drafting the necessary supporting documents (justification notes, stormwater regulations, etc.). Managing ongoing permit applications both during the preparation phase and after submission (monitoring and analyzing feedback, tracking deadlines, etc.). Negotiating and discussing feedback with advisory bodies. Providing critical input regarding permits for new projects (e.g. H?/CO? backbones). Sharing knowledge within the team to ensure continuous mutual reinforcement and collective growth. Background: At least 3 years of experience handling permit applications in an industrial context. Correctly interpret and apply permitting regulations (Environmental Permit Decree, Flemish Codex on Spatial Planning, CoDT, environmental legislation, etc.). Possess strong writing skills and are comfortable drafting permit-related documentation. Constructive in consultations and possess strong persuasive abilities. Demonstrate strong analytical skills and maintain a critical mindset. Proactive, independent, diplomatic, and solution oriented.
