Permit Coordinator – Utility Construction

Position Summary

The Permit Coordinator is responsible for managing, tracking, and obtaining all permits required for utility construction projects, including work associated with telecommunications, gas, water, electric, and other infrastructure upgrades. This role ensures all permit applications are accurate, submitted on time, and compliant with local, state, and federal regulations. The Permit Coordinator works closely with project managers, engineers, utility companies, and municipal permitting agencies to support timely project execution.

Permit ManagementPrepare, submit, and track permit applications for utility construction projects (ROW, traffic control, easements, environmental, excavation, utility locates, etc.).Maintain up-to-date knowledge of permitting requirements for cities, counties, state agencies, and utility authorities.Monitor permit statuses and provide regular updates to project teams.Ensure all permits are secured prior to project mobilization.Compliance & DocumentationReview construction plans and project scope to determine required permits.Ensure applications include accurate drawings, site plans, traffic control plans, and supporting documents.Maintain organized digital and physical records of permits, approvals, expirations, and conditions.Verify compliance with all permit conditions during the project lifecycle.Communication & CoordinationServe as the primary point of contact with municipal permitting departments and utility owners.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to gather documents and resolve permit-related issues.Communicate any changes in permitting regulations or requirements to leadership.Process ImprovementIdentify opportunities to streamline permitting processes.Maintain permit logs, dashboards, and reporting tools for leadership review.Participate in pre‑construction planning to ensure permits align with project timelines.

Work Environment

The headquarters are located in downtown Ft Worth. Employees are not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Work hours vary between 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, allowing for flexibility in work schedules. The position offers opportunities for advancement.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
