D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Permit Coordinator. The right candidate will coordinate all documents required for submitting and obtaining utility and building permits, water taps and impact fees. Communicate and align with division departments and external contacts to ensure all deadlines for building plans and permits are completed on time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Execute timely preparation and submission of plot plans, lot inspections, and building permits through various municipalities based on construction deadlinesPrepare and submit timely check requests, and payments for permits, water taps and impact fees Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with municipality departments and staff membersServe as the designated division contact for permit and/or other issues and respond promptlyRecord building permit information into JD Edwards (JDE) to maintain the construction scheduling softwareUpload all building permits to the Vendor Extranet and DRH Network foldersMonitor the complete building plan approval process through various municipalities on assigned communitiesDistribute construction documents to the Purchasing, Marketing and Construction departmentsDocument and process all plan revisions and coordinate time-frame requirements to consultantsScan all approved permitting informationSupport the Construction Department by performing administrative dutiesInform the Division Accounting Department changes in permit fees, utility connection fees and other municipality feesConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAbility to work overtime

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)One to three years related experience and/or trainingStrong organization skills with attention to detailStrong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment to ensure all deadlines are achievedAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and emailAbility to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral visionThe noise level is generally moderate

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferredAbility to read and interpret building plans a plusExperience working in JDE a plus
