What this job involves:

The Electrician serves as the primary electrical systems specialist for our commercial facilities, providing comprehensive support from medium voltage power distribution to sophisticated HVAC controls. This critical role ensures uninterrupted operations of essential building systems including Central Utility Plant equipment, lighting controls, and laboratory electrical infrastructure. As a key member of JLL's facilities management team, you'll contribute directly to operational excellence and client satisfaction by maintaining the electrical backbone that powers modern commercial real estate environments. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge building technologies while supporting mission-critical operations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Operate and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment supporting facility operations, with focus on Central Utility Plant systems including boilers, chillers, and UPS systems

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent costly downtime

• Diagnose malfunctioning equipment, analyze system operations, and implement corrective actions for complex electrical problems and system failures

• Install, repair, and rebuild electrical components including pumps, motors, air compressors, and heat exchangers while ensuring compliance with safety protocols

• Coordinate with third-party vendors and contractors to develop comprehensive maintenance plans and oversee specialized electrical work and system upgrades

• Run conduit, pull wiring, and wire single and three-phase motors while installing and repairing piping, valves, and associated electrical controls

• Maintain detailed documentation of all maintenance activities, system performance, and safety compliance while implementing standard operating procedures

Required Qualifications:

• Valid electrical license and minimum five years of hands-on experience with low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems

• High school diploma with demonstrated ability to read and interpret HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and architectural blueprints and technical drawings

• Journeyman Electrician certification with proven expertise in electrical systems operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting

• Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and facility management software applications

• Extensive experience with uninterruptible power systems, emergency power systems, and energy management systems

• Strong knowledge of electrical safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and hazardous materials handling procedures

• Physical ability to work in various environments including confined spaces, at heights, and with heavy equipment up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two years of formal trade school education in electrical system design or related technical field

• Experience with HVAC controls, fire alarm systems, and building automation systems in commercial real estate environments

• Familiarity with VFD controls, instrumentation systems, and advanced electrical troubleshooting techniques

• Previous experience in laboratory or mission-critical facility electrical maintenance and operations

• Knowledge of energy efficiency programs, electrical code updates, and modern building technologies

• Experience working in team environments with cross-functional facility management and engineering teams

• Additional certifications in specialized electrical systems or building automation platforms
