Periop Patient Care Asst

Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Perioperative Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting efficient surgical operations by preparing rooms, assisting with patient handling, and ensuring the availability and functionality of equipment and supplies.

Every day you will open sterile supplies, assist with patient positioning and transport, operate specialized equipment like Stealth and CUSA, manage specimens, and maintain a clean and orderly environment.

To be be successful in this role, you will skillfully manage equipment setup and maintenance, ensure adherence to safety and infection control standards, collaborate effectively with the surgical team, and contribute to overall departmental performance improvement.
Reviews the OR schedule daily, tracking and monitoring the necessary pick‐up and delivery of patients to and from the operating rooms as needed to ensure timely surgical startsOpens and assists the team with supplies, instrument sets, suture selection and meeting benchmark turnoversAssists the surgical suite in patient positioning, surgical preps, clipping and aids in the retrieving of x‐rays, equipment set up and tracking and removing instruments to and from the operating room suitesRounds within their assigned surgical rooms to ensure that all turnovers are met and Supports the necessary patient movement and flowAssists Registered Nurses, Surgical Scrubs and the Surgeons while preventing the disruption of the surgical case by retrieving supplies, relaying messages and managing the ancillary support of the surgical teamAnticipates the needs of the surgical team members and provides the necessary support and knowledge of surgical supplies, instruments and sutures
Job Requirements
