patients and the medical community offering primary care urgent care and more than different specialtiesJob DescriptionPerinatal sonographer who performs obstetrical ultrasounds and assists with image guided procedures on the unborn fetuses of women diagnosed to have high risk pregnancies Must demonstrate a firm knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to obstetrics and understanding of pathological conditions that lead to the diagnosis management and treatment ofcurrent or potential medical problems affecting the wellbeing of infant and mothermiddot Assumes responsibility for the safety mental and physical comfort of patients their families while they are in the sonographerrsquos caremiddot Assisting in the training and development of MFM Fellow Resident ultrasound skillsmiddot Perform patient assessments including but not limited to first trimester screening anatomy scans growth scans and fetal echocardiograms Acquire and analyze data obtained from prior to ultrasound results patient history and related diagnostic technologiesmiddot Assist with Maternal Fetal Medicine Interventional procedures such as Amniocentesis CVS and others as assignedmiddot technical skill competency to meet AIUM imaging guidelines of First Trimester ultrasound Level II ndash anatomy including chamber heart and outflow tracks targeted or growth scan fluid checks multiple gestations fetal echocardiographymiddot Able to assist with amniocentesis Chorionic Villi Sampling scanning inpatientsmiddot Adheres to the AIUM ALARA guidelines for obstetrical imagingmiddot Must obtain additional certifications as the Program calls for ie Fetal Echocardiography within years of eligibility HLD CEUmiddot Must be willing to rotate through all Maternal Fetal Medicine offices including but not limited to West Hartford Hartford Glastonbury Norwich Meriden and New Britain middot middot Associates degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonographymiddot Minimum of years experience in clinical OB scanningmiddot Associates degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonographymiddot RDMS OBGYN Registration Fetal Echocardiography Certificationmiddot Demonstrates diagnostic technical skill
