? About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven Solar Performance Analyst to join our growing client's team in Japan. In this role, you will play a key part in optimizing the performance of our solar farms through data analysis, system integration, and collaboration with operations teams.

 

?? Key Responsibilities

Analyze historical and real-time weather and performance data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement. Lead the implementation and troubleshooting of SCADA systems for new solar sites. Perform in-depth performance analysis using Python, SQL, Excel VBA, or similar tools. Collaborate with O&M providers to investigate and categorize faults and resolutions. Maintain and manage internal databases and data flows to ensure data integrity and security. Support performance revenue budgeting and asset onboarding processes. Prepare clear, actionable reports for internal and external stakeholders. Recommend and implement strategies to enhance energy production and reduce operational costs. Conduct and review thermal drone surveys and follow up with O&M teams.

 

? Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. 3–5 years of relevant experience in solar energy or data analysis. Proficiency in Python, SQL, Excel (including VBA), or equivalent tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Valid driver’s license (for driving in Japan). Experience with CAD and PVsyst is a plus. Fluent in English and Japanese (native in one, business-level in the other).
