Supports philosophy, objectives and the mission and vision of Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing. Practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, JCAHO requirements and other regulatory agencies. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in Unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities. Qualifications: Required: + Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing + Must have at least 2 years Mother/Baby experience + Completion of all orientation requirements of CBMC + Successful completion of all orientation programs Preferred: + Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Certifications and Licenses Required: + Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey + Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association + NRP certification Scheduling Requirements: + Per Diem + 2 12.5 hour shifts per month, both shifts on weekend + 1 12.5 hour Summer Holiday (Easter, July 4th, Labor Day) + 1 12.5 hour Winter Holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year s) Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
