Our unit is known for its strong sense of teamwork, clinical excellence, and support for professional growth. *Ideal Candidate:* * Minimum of 4 years of recent PACU or ICU nursing experience * Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills * Calm and effective under pressure, especially in emergency situations * Skilled communicator with patients, families, and care teams * Actively pursues professional development and excellence in care *Key Responsibilities:* * Deliver safe, high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU and Non-OR Recovery areas * Provide accurate documentation and effective discharge teaching * Serve as a clinical resource and liaison for families * Maintain ACLS certification; obtain PALS within 6 months of hire * Adhere to ASPAN standards and institutional protocols to ensure patient safety * Respond confidently to emergencies such as malignant hyperthermia and cardiac/respiratory events * Participate in shared governance, unit projects, and evidence-based initiatives *Education* Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. *Experience* Required: One year of relevant clinical nursing experience Preferred: 4+ years of ICU or PACU clinical nursing experience *Licensure/Certification* Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Preferred: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
