We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist with outstanding diagnostic expertise to join our team. The ideal candidate must have strong anatomic pathology skills to include surgical pathology, cytology, and frozen section diagnostic skills, a desire to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and experience with clinical pathology to include peripheral smear review and knowledge of CLIA regulatory requirements as it applies to laboratory operations. Primary Responsibilities:
Perform routine sign-out, providing high quality diagnosis of surgical pathology and cytology specimens by using a variety of microscope techniques, including light microscopy, special stains, immunohistochemical stains or other techniquesConsults with referring physicians about ordering and interpreting tests or providing treatmentsProvides diagnostic information to the treating/referring physician in the form of a written pathology reportMaintains compliance with departmental key performic indicators such as turnaround time and peer review metricsPerform frozen sections on a rotating basisPerform rapid on-site assessment (ROSE) of in-office fine needle aspirations as neededParticipates in interdisciplinary treatment conferencesIs available and on site during normal working hours to assist peers, administration, and staff with lab or pathology related questionsParticipates in proficiency testing programs and intradepartmental meetings to establish measures to ensure and improve accuracy of diagnoses and quality of careParticipates in professional organizations, continuing medical educational conferences, and seminars to keep abreast of developments in pathologyPerform gross examination, dissection and description of specimens according to procedureProvide oversight, assistance, and education of laboratory personnel in the processing of specimensMay take photographs of specimens when indicated for patient reports or archival purposesMay consult with peers or extra departmental consultants on difficult cases as requested or neededAdhere to HIPAA requirements as it pertains to protected health information (PHI)May perform on-call responsibilitiesCompletes annual training programs within the required timeframe and regularly attends staff meetingsMaintains strictest confidentialityComplies with all State, Federal, professional regulations as well as company and departmental rules, polices, and procedural manualsAdherence to CAP, CLIA, State Regulations, HIPAA, Safety and OSHA RegulationsMay be responsible for CLIA Laboratory Directorships of one or more clinical laboratoriesPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with American Board of Pathology requirements for maintenance of certification and annual continuing medical education requirements for state licensureGain/Maintains appropriate medical staff membership and privileges at applicable medical facilities

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $147.84 to $253.85 per hour. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role.
