Develop solutions to tough challenges such as environmental protection, food safety, and cancer research. **Location/Division Specific Information:** Detroit, Michigan/Biologicals & Chemicals Division **How Will You Make an Impact?:** The Peptone Equipment Operator will perform manufacturing operations associated with the production of animal-based peptones. **How will you get there?** + **“Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.”** **This opportunity is with the UAW.** **A Day in the Life:** + Prepare raw material for use in digest kettles. + Setup and operate digest kettles, steam kettles, and filter presses. Setup and load product in dryers. + Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to ensure smooth production flow and timely completion of processes. + Record production data, such as quantities produced and quality control measurements. Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). + Perform autonomous maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure efficient performance. + Adhere to company policies and procedures, including maintaining a clean and organized work area. + Inspect finished products for defects or deviations from specifications. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and suggest ideas.
