People Partner/People Lead for China
About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 13 The Role: The People Partner for China is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and executing People strategies that align with S&P Global's China business objectives. This position requires a dynamic leader who can drive talent management, ensure compliance with local labor laws, and provide strategic counsel to business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proactive leadership, strategic thinking, and an entrepreneurial mindset, while fostering a strong organizational culture and promoting an enterprise mindset. Key responsibilities include supporting strategic business initiatives, leveraging Generative AI (GenAI) in HR, partnering with divisional and regional People teams, managing key People processes with Centers of Excellence (COE), facilitating organizational shifts, leading workforce planning, refining total rewards and wellbeing programs, and enhancing people experience. Key Responsibilities: Strategic People Leadership: Develop and implement People strategies that align with business objectives and enhance organizational effectiveness. Serve as a trusted and strategic advisor to business leaders, providing insights and guidance on People-related matters. Collaborate with divisional People Partners and regional People Advisors to ensure cohesive People management across China. Talent Management, Development, and Employer Branding: Identify and thoughtfully plan for future workforce needs, considering the skills, jobs, and locations required to meet business objectives. Lead talent acquisition, development, and retention efforts to build a strong talent pipeline. Develop and execute employer branding strategies to attract top talent and position S&P Global as an employer of choice in the market. Develop leadership to nurture future leaders and enhance organizational capability. Drive initiatives to strengthen organizational culture and enhance employee engagement. Promote internal mobility by creating opportunities for employees to advance and diversify their careers within the organization. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all People practices comply with local labor laws and internal policies, mitigating legal and operational risks. Stay informed of changes in labor legislation and adapt People policies accordingly. Comply and meet the regulatory requirements for regulated business to minimize the regulatory risks. Innovation, Process Optimization, and People Experience: Partner with COE to drive consistency and efficiency in service delivery to enhance the overall people experience within the organization. Foster innovation and creativity within the HR function, encouraging new ideas and approaches. Explore the opportunities in GenAI applications in the key processes. Support enterprise GenAI agenda. Support for Strategic Business Initiatives: Collaborate with business leaders to understand and support existing and potential strategic business initiatives. Align People strategies and practices with business goals to facilitate successful implementation and execution of strategic initiatives. Organizational Shifts and Change Management: Partner with teams and leaders to drive organizational changes and develop new operating models for long-term success. Mitigate risks associated with organizational shifts by implementing effective change management strategies. Support the development and implementation of initiatives that enhance organizational agility and resilience. Total Rewards & Wellbeing: Support benefits reviewing to ensure the benefits offerings create a bigger relevance between global benefits strategy and local nuances. Refine strategies to attract, retain, reward, and support talent through personalized, cost-effective programs. Enhance employee wellbeing by creating offerings that support physical, mental, and financial health. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 15 years of experience in HR management, with a focus on strategic HR leadership. Strong knowledge of local labor laws and regulations in China. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Proven ability to think strategically and drive change. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Generative AI applications in HR. #LI-CBS What’s In It For You?
