Position Summary
The People Labor and Relations Coordinator is responsible for modeling the Compassus values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Innovation and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of Success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The People Labor and Relations Coordinator will assist with labor relations and human resources matters, gathering, collecting, and maintaining documents and records required for contract administration, policy development, investigations, and negotiations.
Position Specific Responsibilities
• Collects information and data to assess cost and policy implications of negotiations and disputes. This may include management and union proposals, pay scales and wages, benefits, working conditions, and other mitigating circumstances, as requested.
• Creates and maintains union contract crosswalks and updates as necessary.
• Conducts surveys, interviews, and other research related to human resource policies, compensation, and other labor negotiations; collects information and reports results to Director, Employee and Labor Relations.
• Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, collective bargaining, unions, labor relations, and human resources.
• Assists with preparation of documents and records required for contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizations.
• May attend bargaining sessions as the designated note taker for the bargaining team.
• Assists with preparation of materials and resources to educate managers of represented staff on the collective bargaining agreement and other training resources as requested or assigned.
• Assists with all collective bargaining agreement system (HRIS) implementation and any updates during the term of the collective bargaining agreements. Maintains and creates resources for leaders to communicate any updates or changes that affect their represented employees. Prepares materials to updated internal stakeholders on updates with collective bargaining agreements.
• Conducts initial interviews and gathers information for employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns; informs appropriate HR staff when additional investigation is required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business, Accounting, or related field required.Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.At least three (3) years of professional human resource administration required with experience in employee relations and labor preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: The demands of this role necessitate a team member to effectively perform essential functions. Visual acuity requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
