Are you an experienced pension professional looking to make\r\na meaningful impact in a dynamic shared service environment? We have a new and\r\nexciting role for a dedicated Pension and Benefits Advisor to lead\r\nthe accurate administration and management of multiple pension schemes and\r\nemployee benefits.

With pensions at the heart of this role, we’re looking for\r\nsomeone who has hands-on experience across various schemes—ideally including\r\ngovernment or civil service pensions—and who may have worked in payroll with\r\ncrossover into pensions administration. If you bring deep pension expertise,\r\nwe’ll support you in developing the benefits side.

Our HR operations function will be moving into our Newcastle\r\noffice in the coming months. That means you’ll be based onsite at our Newcastle\r\noffice three days a week (Tuesday to Thursday), with the flexibility to work\r\nfrom home on the remaining days. During the initial training period, occasional\r\ntravel to our Stockton office may be required.

What you'll be doing:

 Pension\r\n Administration: Lead end-to-end processes across multiple schemes (e.g.,\r\n PCSPS, NHS, LGPS), including joiners, leavers, AVCs, salary sacrifice, and\r\n statutory reporting. Provide expert guidance on complex pension queries\r\n and liaise with providers to support accurate processing.Exit\r\n & Retirement: Prepare and explain pension exit statements and\r\n retirement options, ensuring timely and accurate benefit processing.Compliance\r\n & Reporting: Support adherence to pension legislation, tax rules, and\r\n GDPR. Submit statutory reports and maintain up-to-date policies aligned\r\n with legislative changes.Benefits\r\n Administration: Be responsible for monthly payroll-linked benefits (e.g.,\r\n health insurance, PMI, life assurance), including handling Death in\r\n Service claims and resolving provider issues.Subject\r\n Matter Expertise & Engagement: Act as the pensions SME, delivering\r\n training and collaborating with HR, payroll, finance, and external\r\n administrators to promote seamless operations and consistent, high-quality\r\n approaches.

What you’ll bring:

 Solid\r\n understanding of Civil Service, NHS, and LGPS pension schemes, including\r\n reporting, compliance, and multi-scheme administration.Experience\r\n with employee benefits programs and resolving provider issues.Skilled\r\n in various payroll systems, and advanced Excel; familiarity with case\r\n management tools.High\r\n attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to\r\n explain complex pension matters clearly and empathetically.Capable\r\n of handling multiple schemes and time-sensitive tasks in a shared services\r\n or HR operations environment.High\r\n numeracy and literacy (GCSE A/B or equivalent); professional pension or\r\n payroll qualification desirable.
