DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Equipment Operator with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, you will be integral to maintaining the safety and efficiency of our roadways, particularly during the demanding winter months when snow removal is crucial. Your responsibilities will not only include snow plowing but also extend to various construction projects, where your expertise significantly influences the infrastructure and safety of the traveling public. Work Schedule and Additional Information: + Full-time employment. + Work hours vary from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM; Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. + Winter shifts are 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. + Travel, overtime and shift work required. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: + Successful completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee Program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or + Graduation from a Commercial Driver's License Training School;or + An equivalent combination of experience and training. Special Requirements: + Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with the Air Brake Restriction (L) removed. + Must possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
