Job Overview:

Evaluates autistic patient’s psychotherapeutic needs and provides psychotherapy, behavioral support, and caregiver education/support for outpatient autistic populations under age 5, as indicated.

Qualifications:

Required:

Master’s DegreeNJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)AHA BLS Provider CertificationTact, initiative and judgment in performance of dutiesMinimum one-year of experience working with children under five years old and their caregivers

Preferred:

Experience with young children diagnosed with autismFamiliarity with parenting programs for parents of young children with autism

Certifications and Licenses Required:

NJ LCSWAHA BLS Provider Certification

Scheduling Requirements:

Full Time40 hours/weekEvening hours 

Essential Functions:

Collaborates with developmental pediatrician or other diagnostician and caregiver to identify treatment goalProvides effective individual, family group psychotherapy as indicated with emphasis on parenting of young children with autism or related issuesIdentifies and assists with linkage to community supports as neededIdentifies realistic goals for psychotherapyAttends program development and case conferences as indicated for patients treated or evaluatedProvides in-services to staff and community agencies as requested by SupervisorDisseminates findings accurately and sensitively, according to Department policyProvides supervision to staff, fellows, interns and externs as indicatedProvides effective team consultation as needed
