Pediatric Occupational Therapist - Feeding Specialist

Job Summary and Responsibilities

In keeping with the Marian Regional Medical Center health care philosophy, the Registered Occupational Therapist II supports and promotes the provision of quality patient care under the direction of Registered Occupational Therapist Supervisor. Actively provides Occupational Therapy services to patients/residents, including evaluation and assessment, treatment program planning and implementation, related documentation and communication. Provides direct supervision of COTAs, students, volunteers and aides. Assists in the development and implementation of new programs and groups.


Job Requirements
Two (2) or more years of experience as a Registered Occupational Therapist.Certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB) or satisfaction of any current state legal requirements. Competency as a generalpractitioner of Occupational Therapy as defined by AOTA.Certified in CPR.Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of the principles, practices and standards and techniques of how to us and maintain Occupational Therapy equipment.Knowledge of safety and body mechanics to avoid injury to self or patient. Skill in writing reports, preparing correspondence and keeping patient care records. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients/residents, medical staff, and the public. Ability to evaluate utilization statistics and other data. Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to perform functions within established productivity standards.Approved for advanced practice in feeding by the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
