The scope of the inpatient pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist duties include: + Direct care of admitted pediatric patients within the hospital (typically 50 admissions annually) + Consultations with colleagues on pediatric patients from within the region (clinic or hospital-based) + Precepting and direct teaching of residents and other trainees, as re: research and other academic pursuits + Citizenship and advancement of the inpatient pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist practice The standard shift for the full-time (1.0 FTE) inpatient pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist is 12 hours per day in-house for a total of 24 weeks per year.
