System One is currently seeking a P&C Tech on a 3 year contract located in Atlanta, GA.
P&C Tech Responsibilities:
+ Perform routine maintenance and inspections of protection and control systems to ensure their functionality and reliability.
+ Conduct tests, calibrations, and functional checks on protective relays, circuit breakers, and other control devices to verify their performance.
+ Diagnose and resolve issues and faults within protection and control systems.
+ Conduct advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
+ Configure and program protective relays and control devices as needed, ensuring they are set up to protect electrical equipment and respond to faults appropriately.
+ Participate in relay coordination studies to ensure that protective relays operate as intended during faults while minimizing unnecessary trips.
+ Analyze data from protection systems to identify trends, abnormalities, and potential issues.
+ Utilize advanced analysis tools and software.
+ Assist in the planning and implementation of upgrades and modernization projects for protection and control systems.
+ Ensure that protection and control systems comply with safety standards and regulations.
+ Implement safety interlocks and emergency shutdown systems.
+ Maintain detailed records of maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
+ Update and create technical documentation as needed.
+ Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and operational staff to ensure the effective and efficient operation of electrical systems.
+ Note: Position requires candidate to be available for on-call 24/7 (rotating schedule), paid overtime, and statewide travel. Candidate must be available to travel on short notice for extended periods of time including overnight stays, weekends, and holidays.
P&C Tech Requirements:
+ Associate's or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is typically preferred.
+ At least 1 year of experience in maintaining and testing electrical protection and control systems, preferably in industries like power generation and distribution.
+ Proficiency in using advanced testing equipment, including relay test sets and oscilloscopes.
+ Strong knowledge of protective relays, circuit breakers, and control systems.
+ Understanding of electrical safety practices and standards.
+ Familiarity with relay coordination principles and software tools.
+ Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
