Job Title: Payroll Team Lead

Responsibilities

Lead and support the end-to-end processing of a busy multi-payroll department, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.Monitor workloads, team assignments, and processing deadlines.Identify, investigate, and propose opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and risk mitigation; lead or support implementation efforts.Act as a point of escalation for complex payroll issues, employee inquiries, and system-related challenges.Verify the accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and deductions.Review the correct application of the company’s pay policies, Federal legislations, and collective bargaining agreements.Partner closely with HR, Finance, Benefits, and IT to ensure seamless payroll operations and data integrity.Review all payroll transactions entered by the Payroll Administrators, reconcile final payroll submissions, and commit the payroll.Provide training to the team on policies, regulations, and processes.Contribute to the development of processes and procedures.Open HRIS requests for changes related to day-to-day payroll operations.Act as a point of contact for ROE queries.Provide coverage for payroll processing as needed.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 3-5 years of end-to-end payroll processing experience in mid-size to large organizations.Strong, hands-on payroll system experience is required.Experience mentoring payroll staff.In-depth knowledge of federal and provincial payroll and tax laws (ON, AB, BC), CPP, PCP.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working in diverse unionized environments is an asset.PCP certification or in progress.Process improvement experience.Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $98000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
