The Payroll Tax Analyst position is responsible for all payroll tax related duties including working with various agencies and 3rd party tax services to research and resolve payroll tax inquiries and notices. Perform audits of wage and tax data, employee and employer level tax setup, and coordinate corrections, as needed. In a collaborative environment, the Payroll Tax Analyst will partner with the Payroll, HRIS, Corporate Tax, and other teams to ensure data integrity and compliance.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and upload various tax agency notices (Federal, State, and Local) to ADP Smart Compliance, record and track status of tax inquiries in Payroll Tax Agency Log through resolutionCommunicate directly with Federal, State, and Local tax agencies; as well as third party vendor ADP Tax Direct regarding tax inquiries such as tax agency notices, filings, deposits, amendments, and exceptionsPerform periodic, quarterly, and annual data analysis and reconciliation on payroll tax liability (941, SODs, Wage and Tax register) and research variances to ensure accurate filingsPerform routine audits to verify and correct employees' state and local tax setup to ensure compliance with state and local tax rules based on live and work locationsPerform miscellaneous audits to verify and ensure that data between various systems are in sync. Investigate and correct errors, as necessaryManually complete and submit tax returns not processed by ADP Tax Direct accurately and timely, as neededRequest tax payments for adjustments and abatement of tax penalties, as neededRegister for new state and local tax IDs, as neededRoutinely research and monitor the latest payroll tax regulations changes to remain current and compliant with Federal, State, and Local entitiesWork on special projects and assist in user acceptance testingCreate ad-hoc reports and queries for other areas of the business (i.e. Tax, Risk Management) as requested using ADP Reporting and SAPAssist in the year-end payroll process to ensure accurate and timely processing of W-2sPerform additional tasks as assigned

Highly ethical, analytical, team-oriented, flexible, inquisitive & logicalCritical thinking skills needed to investigate and resolve issuesAbility to negotiate positive resolutions with customers and payroll tax agenciesDetail orientedUnderstand the payroll process including the different interfaces to help the team as neededDue to payroll processing schedule may need to work certain holidays/weekends Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline such as accounting or finance 8+ years of payroll tax reporting and compliance within a large multi-state /multiple entity organization; 10,000+ employees preferredADP Reporting experience requiredSAP and UKG experience preferredAdvanced Excel experience requiredGeneral accounting experience preferred Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentAbility to make administrative and procedural recommendations while exercising judgment on sensitive issues in adherence to Federal, State, and Local regulationsAbility to adapt well to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and work on various initiatives with minimal supervision while maintaining organization and preserving strict confidentiality of all informationProven demonstration of audit and analysis experience requiredStrong verbal and written communication skillsThe pay range for this position is $57,300.00 - $85,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
