What You’ll Do: + Lead and Inspire: Mentor and develop the payroll team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. + Shape Operations: Oversee the entire payroll lifecycle for multiple employee groups, maintaining precision and compliance with evolving regulations. + Strengthen Controls: Streamline workflows, automate processes, and enhance internal controls while partnering with HR, Benefits, and Finance to ensure alignment. + Champion Compliance: Stay current on wage and hour laws, tax rules, and audit standards; serve as the primary contact for payroll matters with internal/external stakeholders. + Drive Change: Identify and implement best practices and technology enhancements to maximize efficiency and improve the employee experience. + Empower Cross-Functional Success: Partner with HR and Finance to deliver insightful reporting and exceptional support, resolving payroll inquiries professionally and clearly. Requirements What You Bring: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience + 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience and at least 2 years of supervisory or management background + Robust knowledge of payroll regulations, tax rules, and wage-and-hour laws + Familiarity with major payroll and HRIS systems (preferably UKG) + Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a proactive problem-solving mindset Preferred Qualifications: + Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification + Experience with multi-state payroll or complex organizational structures + Track record in leading process redesign/automation initiatives Core Leadership Competencies: + Integrity, strategic vision, and accountability + Change leadership and clear communication with diverse audiences + Employee-centered mindset with a commitment to service excellence Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
