Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director
Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and ensure the seamless execution of payroll operations for a diverse, multi-state workforce. This role will involve managing full-cycle payroll processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leading a dedicated payroll team to achieve operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in payroll systems, analytical expertise, and leadership skills, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities: • Oversee end-to-end payroll processes for employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy in wage calculations, deductions, reimbursements, and off-cycle payments. • Conduct regular audits to maintain data integrity and compliance with payroll regulations. • Supervise, mentor, and develop payroll staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. • Train and onboard new team members, providing guidance on complex payroll issues and technologies. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, staying updated on regulatory changes. • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to integrate garnishments, deductions, and benefits into payroll processes. • Prepare and analyze payroll data for reporting, budgeting, and forecasting purposes. • Maintain and enhance payroll systems, troubleshooting issues and implementing upgrades as needed. • Identify and execute process improvements to optimize accuracy and efficiency within payroll operations. • Support internal and external audits by ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to internal controls. Requirements • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field is preferred. • Certified Payroll designation is highly desirable. • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing payroll for large-scale, multi-state operations. • At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within payroll. • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems is preferred. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and large data set analysis. • Experience with payroll system implementation and process improvement is a plus. • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
