This role is responsible for managing payroll for over 1,000 retail employees across 50+ locations and 20+ office staff, working closely with an external payroll provider and a local team of two in Bucharest. It reports to the Payroll Manager and involves regular collaboration with location management, local colleagues, and global payroll teams through weekly virtual meetings and annual in-person gatherings.

The few most important must haves of the best matching candidate :
Proven experience in payroll, preferably in the retail industry Strong familiarity with local labor and payroll laws Excellent analytical and organizational skills Fluency in English and Romanian
Key Responsibilities:
Secure monthly payroll execution accurately and on time Manage employee lifecycle payroll processes (registrations, de-registrations, contracts, etc.) Collaborate with the external payroll provider to ensure payroll calculation accuracy. Monitor time attendance, absences, and overtime; ensure accurate payroll reporting. Liaise with authorities and internal stakeholders on payroll and tax matters. Maintain accurate payroll and employee files in line with local laws. Deliver payroll-related training to stakeholders. Prepare internal and external reports for management and authorities. Ensure compliance with data privacy and labor laws. Manage employee benefits, including staff discounts and incentive programs. Support month-end tasks and reporting. Participate in payroll-related projects as directed by the Payroll Manager
What You Need to Succeed:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, HR, or relevant certification Minimum 2 years of payroll experience, preferably in retail Proficiency in Microsoft Office (with a strong focus on Excel) Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Familiarity with payroll and labor law compliance To be successful in this role, you will act as a role model contributing to business success.
Good-to-Have:
Experience in the retail industry Payroll software experience: Charisma (or simmilar software)
Compensation & Benefits:
