Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to oversee the entire payroll process and lead a team of payroll professionals. This role is critical in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations across multiple states.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including bi-weekly payroll, reporting, data validation, and timekeeping systems.
+ Supervise payroll team members, including development, scheduling, performance management, and compensation.
+ Build and optimize workflows within the HRIS/payroll system to drive automation and efficiency.
+ Review and process time entries for accurate multi-state payroll; generate direct deposits and complete postings.
+ Maintain advanced knowledge of multi-state and city tax codes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
+ Provide timely support for complex payroll inquiries with a strong employee-centric approach.
+ Utilize advanced technical skills in HRIS/payroll systems for data transfers, reporting, and transaction management.
+ Offer guidance on payroll and tax law for future operational expansions and complex payroll scenarios.
+ Validate timecards, vacation entries, and data prior to accounting system exports.
+ Develop standards for electronic timekeeping systems, including new hire setup, permissions, pay codes, and user roles.
+ Participate in departmental training sessions, including new process launches and new hire orientation.
+ Lead payroll integration for acquired companies, including project planning, workflow training, and communication strategies.
+ Oversee employment verifications and garnishment processes, ensuring timely responses and payments.
Required Skills:
+ Payroll processing
+ ADP experience (preferred)
+ Payroll tax compliance
+ HRIS systems proficiency
Qualifications:
+ 3+ years of payroll experience
+ Strong understanding of multi-state payroll and tax regulations
+ Excellent organizational and communication skills

This is a Permanent position based out of Cleveland, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
