Description
Oversee the entire payroll process including but not limited to, processing bi-weekly payroll, running reports, validating data, maintaining timekeeping systems and administering garnishments/deductions
· Direct Supervisor of payroll team members including development, discipline, schedule, performance, compensation, etc.
· Strong ability to build workflows and processes within the HRIS/payroll system to drive automation and efficiency
· Processes and reviews time to ensure complete and accurate multi state payroll processing; generate direct deposits and complete postings
· Advanced understanding of multi state and city tax codes and requirements to ensure payroll accuracy
· Strong employee centric attitude to provide timely support on complex payroll questions/issues
· Advanced technical acumen of the HRIS/Payroll system with the ability to transfer data, run reports and manage transactions· Strong understanding of payroll and tax law to offer guidance for future state operating expansions and ensure accuracy for complex payroll situations
· Assists with timecard validations, vacation entries, and data validations prior to accounting system exports
· Creates processes and standards of the structure and maintenances of the electronic timekeeping system, including new hire setup, permission profiles, employee groups, pay codes and user roles
· Participate in and present in various department trainings including new process launches and new hire orientation
· Leads the integration actions of acquired companies to ensure smooth integration of payroll processes
for employees including project planning, workflow training, adoption, and communication strategies
· Oversees all employment verifications and processes
· Oversees employee garnishments ensuring timely responses and payments
