Job Title: Payroll & Benefits SpecialistJob Description

We are seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to assist in managing our company's employee benefits programs and compensation strategies. This role is crucial for driving the success of health & wellness benefits, health savings plans, 401(k) plans, and employee leave of absence programs. The position requires close collaboration with HR, Accounting, and Finance to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with payroll, benefits, and 401K regulations.

ResponsibilitiesAssist in managing the company’s health & wellness benefits, health savings plans, and 401(k) program.Manage employee leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance and supporting employees during their leave.Act as the primary point of contact for employees with any benefits-related questions or concerns.Maintain and ensure accuracy of all employee benefits, including billing, change reporting, enrollment, and review of Medical, Dental, 401K, and Life.Provide timely and accurate reporting and analysis regarding company benefits spending and usage.Assist the Manager of Compensation & Benefits to process employee wages, taxes, and deductions accurately and on time.Manage payroll records meticulously while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.Assist with the design and management of various compensation programs to attract, retain, and motivate talent.Use both external and internal data to ensure our compensation and benefits programs remain competitive and align with market trends.Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to support broader HR and organizational initiatives.Help maintain accurate employee benefits records, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.Essential Skills5+ years of payroll experienceExperience with payroll processing and payroll taxExperience with computer systems: SAP, ADP, UKG, CeridianBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field2-4 years of experience in HR, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with exposure to compensation and benefits managementProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)Strong knowledge of employer benefit plans and compensation programsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing projectsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with processing payroll for 1000+ peopleA personality that is proactive and not afraid to face challengesWillingness to admit when unsure and seek solutionsWork Environment

The position requires working Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. It offers a hybrid work model with 2 days remote, which will be coordinated with management. The team currently consists of two people, including the successful candidate and an Accounts Payable processor. The dress code is business casual.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.41 - $38.94/hr.
