We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role involves processing payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The position is contract-to-hire and requires on-site work with a flexible 4x10 schedule.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare and process hourly and salaried payrolls for approximately 260 employees, including 41 exempt and 40 contingent employees.
+ Manage payroll for non-exempt employees on a weekly basis and exempt employees on a monthly basis.
+ Enter new hires, employee changes, and voluntary deductions into the payroll system.
+ Process manual checks for terminations and discrepancies.
+ Review computed wages and correct errors to ensure the accuracy of earnings.
+ Ensure all changes to payroll are processed correctly.
+ Check non-exempt personnel time sheets using electronic time and attendance software for compliance with policies and regulations.
+ Process stop payments or adjustments of payroll as needed.
+ Calculate potential bonuses upon request.
+ Ensure computing, withholding, and deductions are done correctly.
+ Acquire knowledge of wage and hour laws.
+ Prepare various payroll and financial reports, journal entries, and workers' compensation reconciliation in the company MRTA system.
Essential Skills
+ 2-5 years of payroll processing experience.
+ Experience conducting payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees.
+ Proficiency in reconciliations, particularly two-way match between Time & Attendance and Invoice, and Invoice to Accounts Payable.
+ Experience with payroll and time capture software, such as ADP and UKG.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
+ Experience in journal entry preparation and benefits administration.
+ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Direct experience with UKG Software and ADP Software.
+ Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
+ Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not required; experience is valued more than education.
Work Environment
The role is based in a fast-paced environment where confidentiality and discretion are paramount. Due to the location, steel-toed shoes are required, with reimbursement up to $125 per year upon conversion. The dress code is suitable for a manufacturing facility, allowing for jeans. The team is small but collaborative, fostering a fun and engaging atmosphere despite the fast pace.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
