BGIS is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join the team Remote, US.

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll, maintaining employee personnel records, and conducting payroll reporting and auditing. The Payroll Specialist manages an organization's payroll system, ensuring team members are paid accurately and on time, calculating deductions, and handling taxes and benefits, while maintaining records and complying with labor laws and regulations. The Payroll Specialist demonstrates BGIS values.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Project Coordination
Responsible for payroll actives including data entry, computing wage and overtime payments (automated and manual), employment wage verification, calculating and recording payroll deductions, and processing terminations. Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws as the payroll is multi-state. Responsible for union pay increases and special pay per the union labor agreements.Data Management
Follow established process to maintain system data including rate changes, garnishments, dues, 401k, vacation fund, and other deductions. Prepare and audits various reports as assigned. Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives as assigned.Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience CPP certification preferred. Intermediate working knowledge of HRIS systems required. Understanding of end to end payroll processing required. Minimum of 1-2 years of multi-state payroll experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Collaborative approach with other HR specialty areas and contribute positively to overall teamwork. Time management skills to prioritize competing requests and activities. Relationship building Two (2) years of union payroll experience preferred. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.Physical Demands and Work Environment

The hourly range for this position in the US is $26-35.
A candidate’s salary offer is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, certifications, licenses, and location.
