Payroll Specialist
Job Title: Payroll SpecialistJob Description

Join our dynamic Human Resources team as a Payroll Specialist, where you will be instrumental in processing payroll for all exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring accurate and timely wage distribution. This is a contract-to-hire position based onsite with a flexible 4x10 work schedule, offering a vibrant and fast-paced work environment.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare and process hourly and salaried payrolls for a total headcount of approximately 260 employees, including 41 exempt and 40 contingent staff.Manage payroll for different pay periods: weekly for non-exempt and monthly for exempt employees.Enter new hires, employee changes, and voluntary deductions into the payroll system.Process manual checks for terminations and discrepancies.Review computed wages to correct errors and ensure the accuracy of earnings.Ensure all changes to payroll are processed correctly.Check non-exempt personnel timesheets using electronic time and attendance software for compliance with policies, state, and regulatory requirements.Process stop payments or adjustments of payroll and calculate potential bonuses as requested.Ensure computing, withholding, and deductions are done correctly.Acquire knowledge of wage and hour laws.Prepare various payroll and financial reports, journal entries, workers' compensation, and reconcile in company MRTA system.
Essential Skills2-5 years of payroll processing experience.Experience conducting payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees.Experience with reconciliations, including a 2-way match from Time & Attendance to Invoice, and Invoice to AP.Experience with payroll and time capture software, specifically ADP and UKG.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Additional Skills & QualificationsDirect experience with UKG Software.Direct experience with ADP Software.Experience with FMLA and Benefits Administration.Bilingual - Spanish speaking.Bachelor's degree preferred (valuing experience over education).
Work Environment

The work environment is lively and fast-paced, with a strong emphasis on having fun while maintaining productivity. The team consists of three members who prioritize confidentiality and discretion due to their role under Human Resources. The dress code is suitable for a manufacturing facility, where steel-toed shoes are required and reimbursable up to $125 per year. Jeans are acceptable attire, reflecting the casual yet professional atmosphere.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
