Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Job Responsibilities
Trace Systems is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support and grow within our payroll department. This individual will assist with the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. They’ll work closely with finance and have the opportunity to take on more responsibility over time.
Support semi-monthly payroll processing for all employees, including salaries, allowances, garnishments, benefits deductions, and taxes.Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee time and attendance data.Process payroll updates for new hires, terminations, salary changes, and adjustments.Calculate and process allowances and premiums such as per diem, housing, hardship/danger pay, and COLA.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour regulations.Prepare and provide documentation during audits.Collaborate with HR and Finance to identify and implement process improvements.Manage payroll deductions for employee benefits, including health insurance and retirement plans.Respond to payroll and benefits inquiries from employees with professionalism and accuracy.Perform ad hoc analysis of payroll data to support troubleshooting, compliance reviews, and management reporting.Minimum Qualifications
Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US citizenship is required.Minimum of 3 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree in accounting, business administration, human resources or related field; OR minimum of 5 years of related experience without a degree.Strong knowledge of payroll processes, payroll tax compliance, and internal controls.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).Experience with Deltek Costpoint and ADP Workforce.

Education
