As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll help ensure accurate and timely weekly payroll processing for both exempt and non-exempt employees, covering union and non-union populations. In this role, you’ll work within our enterprise SAP platform to process payroll in-house—no third-party vendor involved—giving you exposure to the full payroll cycle, compliance requirements, and problem-solving across multiple states and employment structures. You’ll collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and employee satisfaction. **What you’ll be doing:** **_Payroll Processing & Administration_** + Process weekly payroll for exempt, non-exempt, union, and non-union. + Maintain payroll data integrity, including new hires, terminations, transfers, and pay changes. + Calculate and enter deductions, garnishments, and adjustments accurately. + Prepare and issue paychecks in-house, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. **_Compliance & Reporting_** + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws. + Audit payroll transactions to maintain accuracy and compliance. + Generate standard and ad hoc payroll reports for Finance, HR, and leadership. **_System & Process Management_** + Utilize SAP ERP for all payroll-related functions. + Troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies in partnership with HR and Operations. + Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. **_Employee Support_** + Serve as a point of contact for payroll-related questions from managers. + Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality. **What We’re Looking For:** **_Required Qualifications_** + 3+ years of payroll experience in a high-volume environment. + Strong knowledge of payroll principles, wage and hour laws, and multi-state payroll. + Experience with large ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred). + High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. + Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). **_Preferred Qualifications_** + Experience processing union payroll. + Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC). + Prior experience in food service, hospitality, or large-scale operations. **Work Location:** This position is based on site at our corporate office in Houston, TX, four days a week, with the option to work remotely one day per week.
