We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll & Compensation Analyst to manage the calculation and administration of incentive compensation plans for a complex, multi-divisional organization. This role ensures accurate and timely compensation payments and supports strategic alignment between compensation structures and business objectives. This person also works closely with the payroll team and finance to ensure payroll is processed and recorded correctly.
Key Responsibilities of the Payroll and Compensation Analyst:
Compensation:
Accurately track, manage, calculate and process monthly, quarterly, and annual variable incentive compensationAssisting with bonus allocation processes through analyzing performance data
Assist in the development of variable compensation and incentive plans that drive business results and team engagement.
Creating clear, compelling communication and training materials for leaders, and employees.
Directly support finance and business leaders with compensation analytics, investments and opportunities.
Collaborate with Global compensation teams to ensure best practices, strategy alignment, etc. Work with business unit CFO on projects as needed.
Commission Processing:
Accurately process commissions based on established plans and policies. Ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Reconciliations and Audits: Reconcile commission payments, audit data sources, and resolve discrepancies.
Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with sales, finance, and other teams to resolve commission-related issues and answer inquiries.
Maintaining Records and Documentation: Ensure accurate and up-to-date commission records and documentation.
Staying Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices related to sales compensation and commission management.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the development of more efficient systems and procedures.
Provide analytical support for ad hoc projects and reporting needs, including financial accruals, compensation trends, and quarterly projections.
Collaborates with the Finance reporting team on variable compensation accruals, updates to the variable incentive plans.
Payroll:
Provide accurate and complete payroll journal entries to Accounting for recording of payroll registers on a timely basis.
Identify discrepancies, missing data, and deduction code issues across multiple pay periods and employee records.
Reconcile payroll data to determine root causes of errors and inconsistencies: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to validate findings and propose corrective actions.
Assist HR and Finance leaders with validation of payroll registers compared to trends.
Assist with internal audits and benefits-related payroll analysis.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., CCP) is a plus.
3–5+ years of experience in compensation analysis, sales operations, or financial analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
